London has several transport corridors, while the official IB directory confirms programme authorisation but not external-candidate policy or availability. Search by the exact subject, level and session, then compare north, west, south and east London travel rather than treating the city as one point.
For an early paper, a cross-London journey can be less reliable than a slightly longer direct rail trip. Test the door-to-door route at the required arrival time and include at least one wider option outside the centre.
A London search should separate Underground-led journeys from National Rail commuter corridors. A venue in Greater London may be easier from outside the city when it sits on one direct rail line; a shorter route with two central interchanges can be more fragile before a morning paper.
Do not choose accommodation until the school confirms the actual exam venue. A school's postal address and its examination room are not necessarily the same place, and the final test is the journey at the required reporting time, not a midday map estimate.
Enter an arrival time in the official TfL planner, then repeat the check for each paper date. Record the first workable route, number of changes, walking leg and a backup. If step-free travel or another access need matters, apply that filter before deciding the travel area.
For a commuter-rail option, compare the official National Rail schedule as well as the final London connection. A multi-day subject combination can turn one acceptable journey into several peak-time fares or overnight stays, so total the complete exam window rather than pricing one trip.
Choose May or November using both school availability and the date your university needs the result. A school may participate in one session but not accept your subjects, level or external status.
Prepare a clean registration file before outreach. Ask the accepting coordinator which previous candidate details and component records can be retrieved; do not assume an IA or coursework arrangement follows from exam hosting.
For UCAS, enter achieved qualifications and any pending resit accurately. A host-school acceptance solves exam registration and venue logistics; it does not change a university's subject, grade or deadline requirements.
Ask the admissions office which result, evidence and deadline control your case. Do this before paying for travel or treating a host-school search as proof that an offer can still be met.
