Login error or missing result?

Login rejected: work through the checks below. Old session shown: ask for the matching session credentials. Signed in, but a result is absent: ask the coordinator about that subject and its release arrangements. These problems need different checks.

When asking for help, give the error message, time and examination session. Remove the PIN from screenshots and never email it to IBretake.

What you need to log in

Your DP or CP coordinator provides the personal code and PIN; there is no public candidate-registration form. The school decides whether to give candidates portal access, and the IB cannot supply the credentials directly for data-protection reasons. See the IB candidate-access guidance.

Keep the school’s code and PIN together, labelled with the May or November session and year. A saved browser password alone does not tell you which result set it will open.

IB candidate login not working: checks in order

1. Use the code and PIN supplied for the examination session you need. Enter both exactly as supplied. The personal code is case-sensitive; check capital letters as well as similar-looking characters such as 0 and O.
2. Remove spaces before or after either credential. If a browser has filled the fields automatically, compare its entries with the school’s details.
3. Try Mozilla Firefox, the browser recommended by the IB.
4. After three failed attempts, stop and wait 30 minutes before another attempt. If the same details still fail, ask your coordinator to check them.

Why last year's results appear

A retake candidate has a separate PIN for each registered examination session. Seeing an earlier year’s results can therefore mean that you used an earlier session’s PIN. Ask the coordinator to confirm the PIN attached to the results you want to view.

Lost personal code or PIN

Contact the DP or CP coordinator at the school that registered you. If the original coordinator has left, ask the current school office to retrieve the credentials from its IB records. The IB cannot give login details directly to candidates.

For older examination sessions, ask the school to confirm whether the results are available through the portal. If they are not, use the official IB request for results service for the appropriate transcript or replacement document.

After you get in: read the result properly

Once signed in, first check the session and subject level. Where detailed results are available, note the subject grade, scaled total mark, grade boundaries and marks needed for the next grade. A missing subject or missing detail is a question for the coordinator, not a reason to keep retrying the PIN. If you are considering a re-mark, check the applicable review window promptly.
