Who is the company behind IBretake?

Cima Grande is the company; IBretake is the trading name of this service. Our Terms identify Cima Grande as the operator, and our Privacy Policy identifies it as the data controller. This explains why the company name can appear in payment details while the website uses IBretake. Always compare payment instructions with your own checkout. How does the school search work?

A search request, an accepted placement and an official examination entry are three different milestones. Payment alone is not proof of a confirmed exam seat.

• Prepare your request: enter accurate candidate details and select countries, subjects, HL/SL levels and the intended session. Resolve any IA or coursework questions with a coordinator.
• Review and pay: check the displayed total, inclusions and terms. For bank transfers, the request remains pending until IBretake confirms receipt; submitting a transfer notice is not payment confirmation.
• School review: IBretake routes the request to eligible coordinators for the selected criteria. The school decides whether it can accept the actual subjects and session. Availability is not guaranteed.
• Acceptance and administration: where a signed school agreement and admin approval are required, those steps must be completed before final coordinator contact details are released. Follow your dashboard and email updates.
• Official registration: the accepting school confirms eligibility, components, documents, entry deadlines and exam arrangements. Obtain its confirmation of your entry and follow its venue and reporting-time instructions.

Who handles each part of the process?

IBretake is not a school or an exam centre. We do not award grades or diplomas, provide tutoring, arrange new IA/coursework supervision or guarantee placement. The IB's own retake guidance explains that you need a willing school; a school listed in the official directory does not necessarily accept external candidates.

• Distinguish acceptance from completed registration. Do not assume payment bypasses IB requirements or guarantees an improved result.
